Bashir Zikria, MD

Bashir Zikria, MD, MSc, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with Johns Hopkins Orthopaedics at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital.  He serves in the Division of Sports Medicine at Johns Hopkins.  His duties include caring for the Baltimore Orioles, Aberdeen Ironbirds and all of the Johns Hopkins University Athletics.

Dr. Zikria earned his undergraduate degree from Penn State University and then completed his Masters and Medical Doctorate at Drexel University School of Medicine.  His residency was done at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York where he trained under renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Chitranjan Ranawat.  Dr. Zikria then did a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Miami with Dr. John Uribe.  His duties included taking care of the NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers, University of Miami Athletics and many other professional athletes.

Dr. Zikria's specialty is ligament injuries around the knee [multiligament injuries, ACL and PCL injuries] as well as any type of meniscal work. He is also trained in arthroscopic shoulder procedures, as well as elbow arthroscopy.
